by Hunter Hayes
InvisibleThis is another brand-new country hit that has tugged at my heart-strings from the moment I heard it.
I love it's message. We are not invisible, even though it seems like nobody notices the torturous pain we feel.
The even greater message is that this unfathomable pain will someday turn invisible through Christ! Now, Hunter Hayes doesn't specifically mention Jesus Christ in his song. That is my interpretation of the "One" that he's asking us to trust, the one "who's been where you are."
Hunter Hayes wrote this song based on some experiences he had as a teenager and was bullied. Bullying is a serious issue. It is a definite form of abuse as I see it. It can hurt deeply, as all forms of abuse can. These words also deeply apply to the pain and struggles I dealt with throughout my years of being abused sexually and verbally. Abuse is abuse and pain is pain, no matter what the form it takes. But it can turn invisible if we don't hide our abuse and our pain anymore! I told someone, and so can you! That's the first step to healing. The other step to healing is to trust in the Lord! "Trust the one who's been where you are." Give Him your pain, and it will be invisible!
Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it.
Yeah, I promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more!
Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones.
Yeah, the words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone,
And you're not invisible.
Hear me out,
There's so much more of this life than what you're feeling now,
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible.
